Anthropic signed a reported $10 billion, six-year computing agreement with Volta Infra Holdings, a young cloud infrastructure company backed by Nvidia. The agreement covers computing capacity at a 133-megawatt data center in Norway using Nvidia’s Vera Rubin hardware. Volta is working with Bitdeer on the facility. The deal adds to Anthropic’s existing computing relationships as demand for Claude products grows.

Meta released Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter open-weight model optimized for local agent workflows. Meta says the model can run on a Mac or PC with a single consumer GPU and supports tool use, coding, long-running workflows, text and image input, and more than 100 languages. Anthropic confirmed that it is building an in-house team to design custom chips for Claude. The company is recruiting engineers across the hardware and software stack to co-design chips and models for greater speed and efficiency.
